has this been done before? this has probably been done before… has this been done before? this has probably been done before…
If I lay here
If I just lay here
Will you lie with me and
Just forget the world
What would Jesus not do?
Things Jesus would do:
- Flip tables
- Turn water into fine wine to save your wedding party
- Tell the weather outside to STOP
- Curse trees for producing shitty fruit
- Bring people back from the dead
- Go fishing
- Give you food
- Whatever the hell he wants to on the Sabbath
- Make furniture
- Walk across the ocean because you need to stop
This…is the best

this is literally my favorite post on tumblr
I hate this post and will always hate this post because it’s pretty much a perfect example of the disneyfication of things
'ha ha its a lion them africans huh them africans'
to grab the direct quotes:
This line loosely translates from Zulu as, “There comes a lion”. In actuality, the speaker of this sentence is speaking to an adult male whom he respects and refers to as “baba”, which means father but in zulu culture it is seen as respectful to refer to one’s betters as mother or father.
The lion in this instance can seen as symbolic of adversity as Lion King is based on the Masai tradition of having the young men kill a lion when they come of age. The speaker at this point would thus be a young Masai man prior to his initiation.
The elder male that was spoken to in the first line responds in a nonchalant manner and acknowledges the lion’s approach, “Oh yes it’s a lion”.
Sithi uhhmm ingonyama
Ingonyama: yama bagithi baba
The phrase is reiterated in a call and response manner as is common amongst Southern-African cultural relations such as singing and dancing. The theme of the advance of the lion is emphasised by the repetition of the word “ingonyama” which means lion in zulu as the task looms ever closer as the lion draws nearer.
Oh, and the parts that get (conveniently) left out, probably because black people
The collected Masai warriors respond to the challenge in unison, “We’re going to conquer”
Ingonyama nengw’ enamabala:
The lion is now joined by a leopard.
So have some context with your ‘lel dem africans ha ha dem africans o disney’ laugh fucking riot. But this is what Disney does, and trains its fans to do: Take something non-white, use it as goddamned decoration, and remove all of the meaning. Use it as a joke. Make it different, but not too different. Who here thought that part of the song was just random noises? Don’t bother with a show of hands, there’s 400 thousand notes to do that for me.
'well you're just reading too much into it'
if you think ladysmith black mambazo didnt know what they were doing with their own fucking language
Let us just appreciate how Kristoff hesitates to wrap an arm around our Anna. Why? It’s because Kristoff respects the fact that: Anna is “engaged” to Hans (fuck that guy), meaning Kristoff really loves Anna, and that might’ve started when Anna wanted him to catch her. I mean, look at how his face is like!
Not only, he respects HER PERSONAL SPACE, even if Anna didn’t have problem to touch him before.
Instead there’s a part when Hans and Anna start singing Love is an Open Door in which Hans caress Anna’s cheek, and I really didn’t like that part even when I didn’t know that he was the villain. It was too intimate for two people who just meet. Too strange, respect of what else they do during that performance.
Also, Kristoff doesn’t kiss Anna, he ASKS for permission.
Gosh, this guy is perfect. Lemme love him.reason number 904738 why Kristoff is perfect
the asking for permission part, that’s what got me. This man is the more chivalrous than the frikkin prince of the frikkin southern isles!!!

I actually just looked this up and found out some interesting things.
Young MacGuffin speaks in a North East Doric dialect which obviously is hard to understand. Originally he was going to just speak gibberish but his voice actor, Kevin McKidd, suggested he try a few lines in Doric and Pixar loved it and kept it. Found a couple translations too, but only one of them applies to this gif set and that’s the third one after Merida gave her speech about letting them choose who they marry:
“It’s just not fair making us fight for the hand of a girl who doesn’t want anything to do with it. You know?”
OH MY GOD
this changes everything
ALL of the things.
As a North East Doric speaker I can confirm that is exactly how we sound when we speak.
Also, In the first he is saying: ’Since yer sayin it, an I wisna there tae see it masel, I’ll gae hae tae take yer word for it though’
which translates to: ’Since your saying it, and I wasn’t there to see it myself, I’ll have to take your word for it’
Second he is saying: ’It’s aw gon tae be settled once wi get doon tae at field’
which translates to: ‘It’s all going to be settled once we get down to that field’
Third he is saying: ‘It’s just nae fair makin us ficht fur thi hund o’ the quine at disnae want any tae dee we it’
Which translates too: ‘It’s just not fair making us fight for the hand of the girl that doesn’t want anything to do with it’
Now you know (:
